War crimes: So: who's got the world the wrong way round?

"IF STRAW AND BLAIR GET AWAY WITH THIS FOUL ABUSE, THEN THE RULE OF LAW IS FINISHED"

US/UK: INTELLIGENCE AND FACTS WERE 'FIXED AROUND THEIR POLICY'.*

Compilation by Henk Ruyssenaars

February 24, 2006 - Quote: ''The man who led Britain's armed forces into Iraq has said that Tony Blair and the Attorney General, Lord Goldsmith, will join British soldiers in the dock if the military are ever prosecuted for war crimes in Iraq.

In a remarkably frank interview that goes to the heart of the political row over the Attorney General's legal advice, Admiral Sir Michael Boyce, the former Chief of the Defence Staff, said he did not have full legal cover from prosecution at the International Criminal Court (ICC). ''If my soldiers went to jail and I did, some other people would go with me,'' said Boyce. Pressed by The Observer on whether he meant the Prime Minister and the Attorney General, Boyce replied: ''Too bloody right.'' - [http://tinyurl.com/ljwtr]

Outside the PNAC sphere it is understood that whenever some form of human justice returns to the judicial conscience and system, ALL war supporters - and especially the malignant media collaborators - on any level and of any nationality will end up as the accused in the war crimes tribunals. The proces has started as Blair's legal adviser, the infamous neocon Lord Goldsmith who OK'ed the illegal Iraq invasion and war, now slowly and cowardly - but too late - changes course to avoid a life long prison term for his complicity in war crimes. Yesterday he again gave Blair a Judas kiss.

''He [Blair] even appeared out of step with his own Attorney General, Lord Goldsmith, who warned his cabinet colleagues that terrorist suspects were entitled to the same legal protections as "law-abiding citizens": "Blair faces torrent of criticism on human rights" - Url.: http://tinyurl.com/n3kuk]

LORD GOLDSMITH DID NOT BELIEVE THE WAR WAS LEGAL

Fresh evidence emerges that ministers were told the war could be in breach of international law for at least six reasons. A detailed account of the document in the press suggests Lord Goldsmith did not believe the war was legal without a second UN resolution - despite the Government's claims. - [http://tinyurl.com/dsfq2]

There's overwhelming evidence that many so called 'governments' - illegally cooperating with the US PNAC pack - [http://tinyurl.com/dvudx ] - and it's genocidal wars and crimes for profit - are guilty. Also according to the United Nation's Secretary General Kofi Annan, who - again in an interview with the BBC - declared that 'the war in Iraq is illegal' - BBC/Annan - Url.: http://tinyurl.com/5pl2v

The court case against the war criminals seems to be unavoidable: the United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan states that the US-led invasion of Iraq was an illegal act, that contravened the UN charter. Annan said the decision to take action in Iraq should have been made by the Security Council, not unilaterally. The UK government responded by saying the attorney-general made the "legal basis... clear at the time". Yes: that it was an illegal/criminal act.

RENDITION BY THE CIA AND COLLABORATING WAR CRIMINALS

Like the torture flights by the CIA and other PNAC war criminals, as described by former British ambassador to Uzbekistan, Craig Murray, who protested against the use of torture, condoned by Blair and his cabal in their fake "War on Terror": "IF STRAW AND BLAIR GET AWAY WITH THIS FOUL ABUSE, THEN THE RULE OF LAW IS FINISHED."
With Tony Blair and Jack Straw cornered on extraordinary rendition, the UK government is particularly anxious to suppress all evidence of our complicity in obtaining intelligence extracted by foreign torturers.

WHO WILL BLINK FIRST?

The fight for human rights bewteen the PNAC collaborators i London, like neocon Jack Straw and fired ambassador Murray who opposes torture:''Jack "the Lad" Straw and ex-ambassador turned general-election rival Craig Murray are in a "who'll blink first" stand-off. The Foreign Secretary refuses to clear Murray's weighty 160,000-word memoirs for publication; our ex-man in Uzbekistan offers the book for sale from June on Amazon. Murray threatens to lift the lid on UK support for torture and rendition. Jack the Lad, it seems, is putting Murray through his own torture.'' - [http://tinyurl.com/lf35k]

UK POLITICS - SO, WHO'S GOT THE WORLD THE WRONG WAY ROUND?

TERROR LAWS

24 February 2006 - When people say to me... that we have got to keep people here who may be engaged actively in inciting terrorism in this country, I have to say I think we have got the world the wrong way round.
TONY BLAIR YESTERDAY

In confronting terrorism, we are fighting for the safety of our citizens but also for the preservation of our democratic way of life, our right to freedom of expression and commitment to the rule of law.
LORD GOLDSMITH, THE ATTORNEY GENERAL*

BLAIR LIES ABOUT THE INHUMAN RENDITION

There is talk of 200 flights. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF 200 FLIGHTS FOR RENDITION...
It is not the case that the US say they are returning people to countries for torture.
BLAIR YESTERDAY - (Feb. 23, 2006)

The UK Government should have put in place all necessary measures to prevent any action or omission which may, wittingly or unwittingly, have resulted in the UK territory being used to transfer anyone to another state where that person faces a real risk of serious human rights violations, including enforced 'disappearances', torture or other ill-treatment, arbitrary detention or flagrant denial of their right to a fair trial.
AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL

GUANTANAMO

I have said why I think Guantanamo is an anomaly. I also think it is important that we never forget the context in which this has happened: the war in Afghanistan and the reason for that; the slaughter of 3,000 innocent people on September 11.
BLAIR YESTERDAY

The continued use of Guantanamo Bay as a detention centre outside all legal regimes diminishes the USA's moral authority and is a hindrance to the effective pursuit of the war against terrorism.
FOREIGN AFFAIRS SELECT COMMITTEE

IRAQ

Today's struggle in Iraq is the same struggle the world over: it's democracy versus terrorism and extremism. My response all the way through whenever these difficulties arise is to stand up for democracy, for liberty whether in Iraq or elsewhere and make sure the terrorists are defeated.
BLAIR YESTERDAY

Polarisation is increasing. The danger of civil war is extremely serious. There have been efforts by insurgents to start civil war for a couple of years, but they have not succeeded because of institutional restraints. Those restraints have begun to erode.

The Independent (UK) - 24 February 2006 - Tony Blair's support for the United States in its so-called "war on terror" has been unquestioning. But never has the Prime Minister's stance with respect to the Bush administration left him so politically isolated in Britain. Yesterday, the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee, which could once be relied upon to give Mr Blair an easy ride, joined the chorus of condemnation.

The committee's latest report criticises Mr Blair's unwillingness to stand up to President Bush. Echoing last week's United Nations report on Guantanamo Bay, it argues that the very existence of this prison has gravely diminished the moral authority of the US around the world. It also calls on the Government openly to condemn the US practice of "extraordinary rendition". British ministers, it argues, should tell the US that the practice of transporting terror suspects abroad for torture is "completely unacceptable". - Article - Length: 526 words (approx.)
