“We’re Back with Scars to Show”

FPF-fwd. Michel Caddell

"WE’RE BACK WITH SCARS TO SHOW"

Food for thought from a friend in the United States, one of the best and independent editors there is. If there had been a lot more of his caliber and with his drive for honesty, the US (and many other countries) wouldn't be in the mess it's been in for such a long time now. I've visited the US since 1961, but can only weep when I see the horror and what's been done to human beings everywhere. The cancer spread globally, but is now feeding it's own children too to the war machine. And the profiteers are dancing on our graves.

AND MANY THE WORLD OVER WONDER WHETHER 'PNAC' IS SHORT FOR "PROJECT FOR A NEW AMERICAN CEMETERY"...

REVOLUTION AND/OR RESISTANCE?

Palace Colonge Vendome, 1871, Paris Commune. - (This photograph was used by supporters of the then Republic of France to identify and summarily execute those from the military and civilian ranks involved in the uprisings led by the communards against a despotic government’s war abroad.  We, in the United States, are approaching a similar historical situation.  Votes are not enough to stop this corporate war machine.  March to impeach the Bush Regime.)

I will try not to elucidate with flowery [or fiery] prose.

Some, who dare not write, have been generous in supporting my publishing of dissident ideas.

WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT, I CONSIDER YOU A COMRADE.

I GIVE THIS TO YOU AND YOURS.

“WE’RE BACK WITH SCARS TO SHOW”

Still we are strangers on the road to be traveled ahead.
Yet, as my father taught me long ago, “the road to a friend’s house is never long.”
We return along this familiar path, again, with you and many others this time,
And we all have scars to show of the canyon walls climbed,
But we are on a path, together again, both familiar and strange.

Some missing teeth, too old to care,
About the pain ahead or,
Behind in failure, our seeds seemed damned from within.

Alongside the barricades, no fear of the future before us;
Armed with the angry tools given us,
Armed by will of our ancestors,
By the survivors left to tell the tale.
The poets’ words are scrawled along some distant gray wall.

No dress rehearsal, or tea party ahead,
A raging torrent is before those willing to plunge ahead,
Scratching letters in the sands,
Love letters writ red before the sunrise.

“We wanted it this way,” the comrade whispered before the fight.
“Wait for it,” another said.
“Paris,” she whispered, “1871, nobody will believe it.”

We need one another now more than ever before in this country.
“I’m back with scars to show,” as a popular refrain rings.

I write, edit and publish from Kansas – the most difficult of states to understand in the United States.

My closest comrade; taking the path least traveled here, as a medical doctor, and I alongside her, decided over a twenty years ago to defend women in Kansas and encouraged thousands to take “matters” into their own hands and control their own bodies in a society that cared nothing for them.  We proudly come to you now with scars to show you, as strangers from a foreign land to tell you that it is true – the Heartland is breathing with rebellion.

Our decision, commitment and “struggle” (a word seldom used today) to come to that waypoint was difficult and involved.

Our printing presses will print this coming week in thousands of copies.

DRIVE OUT THE BUSH REGIME!

IMPEACH! IMPEACH! THE BUSH REGIME.
