FPF - July 14th 2006 - ''Voicing concern about attacks on journalists in Lebanon in the past 48 hours and the lack of resources being deployed to protect them, Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has called Thursday on the Israeli authorities to investigate the circumstances in which three journalists with the Lebanese television station New TV were injured on Wednesday.''
'Reporters Without Borders' covers this too, not because human beings nearly are killed or an illegal war massacre is going on, but because of the owners, which are not Lebanese.
To better understand the machinations, and know some more about this fishy organisation RWB which is very pro-US, pro-Israel and pro-Cuban resistance' against Castro - there is a story below. Including the unmasking of RWB, when it was shown that they actually serve other masters than human beings, colleagues in journalism or integrity.
A spokesman for the station 'New TV' said: "The three journalists did not hear the helicopter arrive and do not remember what happened after the shots were fired, recovering consciousness in hospital. Their lives are not in danger. They were taken to Nabatiye hospital 70 km southeast of Beirut." - It apparently didn't matter to the israeli armed forces that the TV car was clearly marked: those people could have been 'collateral damage' - as the illegal murderers in uniform excuse it - they could have been dead 'by mistake'.
KILLING JOURNALISTS HAS ALWAYS BEEN AN OPTION
But killing even their own journalists, or forcing them as 'embedded' or otherwise to put their name under the biggest pro war crap published, seems to spread with the speed of a bullet. During a conference on 17 June on news coverage during the war, she said people appreciated the embedding and would like to do it again. She added that more journalists should be brought into this process next time, especially foreign journalists.
Journalists participating in the conference said they also liked embedding because it gave them direct access to the front lines and a broader perspective. Many TV journalists said being embedded with marines allowed them both to increase the depth of battlefield coverage and avoid censorship to a much greater degree.
BUT CNN JOURNALIST BOB FRANKEN SAID HE AND SOME OF HIS COLLEAGUES HAD TO NUANCE THEIR REPORTING OUT OF LOYALTY TO THE US MILITARY.
Marvin Kalb (from the 'PNAC pack' - HR) - a Harvard university professor and former TV journalist, said everyone was very lucky the embedding formula worked out and this was because the war was short.
