Latest Update: Political murder investigation Sévèke: cover up?
Yesterday's article was written and published a few hours before the police decided to offer a description of the killer: one week after the murder?
Here's an early morning update: Nijmegen - Nov. 23d 2005 - time 08.45 hrs AM
FPF - One week later - of what the dutch weekly Elsevier rightly described as 'the liquidation' of the yesterday buried political activist and journalist Louis Sévèke, the police investigating the murder with a special team of 25 detectives - after much criticism and wondering - finally offered the first description of the assassin. - (Dutch text+link below).
According to Elsevier next evening: "The police already the day after the murder watched video films from the security cameras at the scene of the crime 'on which the assassin firing the shots is captured'. It shows how the murderer - up close - fires two shots at Sévèke. According to witnesses it was remarkable how calm and controlled the killing was done. It's also mentioned that a young woman on Wednesday, the day after the murder, to the police handed a picture she made at the murder scene* - with her mobile phone - on which the killer could be seen." - [Elsevier - end quote - Url.: http://tinyurl.com/czfvp]
In a special 'crime watch' program ('Opsporing Verzocht'*) on national TV last night, the watching populace for the first time in nearly a week finally was offered a description of the man who - according to the many witnesses - 'calmly as a professional' and in cold blood shot Sévèke, killing him definitely with a 'coup de grâce' - a final shot, whereafter he calmly walked away.
The official description of the man is according to the police - having watched the video and photo material which strangely enough still is NOT published in the 'investigation' - about: "a white male with sporting bag (which was known) - age between 30 and 35 - 1,80 / 1,90 mtr tall - 'narrow' face - short 'crew cut' hair, dressed in jeans and a hip short sports jacket. The killer's sporting bag at least has the colors blue and red" - according to the police." - One eyewitness who saw the murder he says, sticks to the story that the bag was white.
All the above was known - but not made known - within one hour after the murder shortly after nine o'clock last week Tuesday, and - including the picture material - this is all very fast 'spiked' and disappearing into the fog surrounding the whole strange 'investigation' which has all the signs of a 'cover up'.
The crime scene was even 'Spic & Spanned' - [http://tinyurl.com/9jbhd] - and than the police starts looking for traces, clues and DNA on the same scrubbed place? Hardly any questions are asked - not even by trained crime reporters: the silence in the mainstream media concerning this political murder is as overwhelming deafening as their collaboration is despicable.
But the nearly two thousand people, family and friends at Louis Sévèke's funeral yesterday afternoon in Nijmegen, all understand that - as also Elsevier immediately in a first reaction published - this again has been a political liquidation in The Netherlands by the right wing neocons in power, managing the country as an economical asset. Human beings don't count at present, nor do laws or morality.
According to a poll by Dutch broadcasting company NCRV, in their program "Peiling Stand.nl" held on July 27th 2001 - eighty-two percent (82%) of the Dutch said The Netherlands was 'a corrupt country' already four years ago, and they were and are absolutely right.
The perpetrators of the political liquidation of their fierce opponent Louis Sévèke proved it again, but not even the sea of flowers on Sévèke's grave can bury their crimes. The memories, hard disks and archives of too many are alive and working.
And, as soon as in The Netherlands laws are valid again, the criminals will be taken to court.
It will be a pleasure to report on them.

'Moord op activist Seveke is liquidatie'
De moord op politiek activist Louis Seveke (41) heeft de kenmerken van een gerichte liquidatie. De Nijmeegse politie beschikt sinds woensdagmiddag over beelden waarop de schutter is vastgelegd. Te zien is hoe de dader van dichtbij twee kogels afvuurt op Seveke. Volgens getuigen werd de aanslag opvallend rustig en beheerst uitgevoerd.
In verschillende straten in de Nijmeegse binnenstad hangen beveiligingscamera’s en de politie meldde woensdagmiddag dat agenten bezig waren met het onderzoeken van het beeldmateriaal (lees ook Van Eck extra beveiligd na moord op Seveke).
Ook heeft een jonge vrouw woensdag een foto van de dader verstrekt aan de politie. Zij was dinsdagavond getuige van de liquidatie en maakte de foto met haar mobiele telefoon.
De politie heeft donderdag besloten geen mededelingen meer te doen over de zaak, in afwachting van de resultaten van het onderzoek.
Limburgs accent
De getuigenverklaringen lopen nogal uiteen. De meeste getuigen zeggen dat de dader een blanke, Nederlandse man is, maar er worden ook andere verhalen verteld. Iemand sprak over een donkere man, een andere getuige had het over een Limburgs accent.
De dader zou volgens verhalen een rode sporttas bij zich hebben gehad, anderen spreken weer over een rugtas.
De politie heeft het huis van Seveke woensdag onderzocht op aanwijzingen. Computers zijn in beslag genomen en het onderzoek richt zich op zijn e-mail- en internetgedrag.
Criminelen
Het motief voor de moord is nog niet duidelijk, maar mogelijk heeft dit te maken met de onderzoeken van Seveke. Seveke was niet alleen criticus van politie, justitie en inlichtingendiensten, maar de activist richtte zijn onderzoeken ook op criminelen.
Vanavond is een herdenkingsbijeenkomst in Nijmegen voor de geliquideerde activist.
