IRNA - Malaysia - Kuala Lumpur, August 2, 2006 - Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad called on the international community to halt all transactions in US dollars and pound sterling to pressure Washington and London to end Israeli aggression on Lebanon, Bernama said on Wednesday.

Mahathir, a strong supporter of the Palestinian cause in his 22-year rule before retiring in 2003, said the Israeli aggression would not have been possible without "support and collusion" of United States and Britain.

"I appeal to the world to take this simple action. Reject the dollars and pounds. There will be economic turmoil for the whole world but this is a price we must be prepared to pay , it will be temporary," he said in a statement late Tuesday.

Mahathir said verbal condemnations are "futile."

And globally the 'Newspeak' caption for the next days reads: "Syria Sidesteps Troop Pullout Demand". Which is neocon information by AP's reporter Bassam Mroue. And you are lied to as usual.

Because you are not supposed to know what I have seen and reported on as a correspondent (also for the BBC) for ten years in the area: that Syria is in fact an under-cover ally of the US, or at least her intelligence services. Like Jordan where the late king Hussein officially was on the CIA's payroll as an 'adviser', or like president Mubarak, the US 'puppet on a string' in Egypt. Take 7 November 1987 coup general and president Zine El Abedine Ben Ali, the ruler of Tunisia. SYRIA IS IN NO WAY ABLE TO MAKE SOME KIND OF HONEST 'DEAL'

Morocco - like Mauritania - has already for decades been cooperating with the american secret services. Putting up 'dishes' for the NSA's 'tapping' services and relaying to the BBC's monitoring. Syria is one of those countries where detainees - illegally seized by American agents - are 'rendered'; meaning tortured. And most informed observers and players for the Middle East power, meaning oil and water, know that Syria is in no way able to make some kind of honest 'deal', whatever the Lion's son roars about in the docile Syrian parliament.

They are faced with the Israeli threat of remote controlled nuclear neutron land mines everywhere in the Golan Heights, which can be activated or detonated at any time the Israeli Defense Force feels like. It's a deadly mix of the suicidal Masada complex* and Seymour Hersh's 'Samson Option'.*

In the run up to the first Gulf War US president Bush senior phoned the late Hafez al Assad, the president of Syria a.k.a. the 'Lion of Damascus'. Asking him for military support. While al Assad's 'advisor' - standing next to him - was wringing his hands, Hafez al Assad promised to do whatever President Bush number 1 asked: Soldiers, planes, ammunition, all seemed to be available to the Americans. The devastated 'advisor' asked Assad: "How could you? Why didn't you at least agree on a price, and ask where to send the bill?'

Hafez al Assad gave the same answer as yesterday his son gave to the Syrian 'parliament' in Damascus: "We'll negotiate the price when they want us to pull out again". Anybody in the Arab world will understand what the 'Lion of Damascus' and his son are trying to explain: "Are you trying again to take me for a ride? I'll tell you the cost of the ticket later on."

For the moment and pending a possible investigation, it's quite obvious that Israel's and the Strauss neocons in Washington are the only ones profiting from the latest turmoil. Knowing that by most people in the Arab World, Israel and it's secret service Mossad etc. is rightly blamed for sending Lebanese billionaire Hariri to his forefathers. WHO PROFITS ? - HARA KIRI BY KILLING HARIRI?

Nobody else, apart from Israel, seems to profit from the bombing of Lebanese tycoon Rafiq Harari: on the contrary. For Syria it's a disaster, this betrayal by the bombers. They would never commit a geopolitical 'Hara Kiri' by killing Hariri.

But the syrian government has no choice since the Jerusalem Post's sister paper, the 'New York Times' proudly on October 20 - 1991* published: "Israel has hundreds of tactical and strategic nuclear weapons, including more than 100 nuclear artillery shells, and [remotely controlled] nuclear land mines in the Golan Heights and hundreds of low yield neutron warheads." Confirming what the american/israeli Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Seymour Hersh* had written earlier in his book "The Samson Option."

When the Bush administration gave Israel the go-ahead to attack Syria in retaliation to another Tel Aviv bombing that took place last weekend, killing 5 Israelis, the Hebrew daily 'Yediot Ahronot' reported that - according to the still more reliable news service al Jazeera*: " the Israeli ambassador to Washington discussed with a senior U.S. official intelligence information obtained by the Israeli intelligence service, claiming that Jihad Resistance Movement had masterminded the Tel Aviv blast from inside Damascus. Also, the U.S. didn't ask Tel Aviv to exercise 'self restraint', as in past cases vis-à-vis the Palestinian commando raids, the newspaper added."

SYRIA: A FREE FIRE ZONE?

None of the Newspeak people, the dish bitches, or the few real journalists covering the press conference in Syria's capital Damascus - which was relayed live by the Syrian TV to the Arab countries, Europeans, CNN, FOX & Fakes like 'EURO-News' - (same clan): none of them asked the question: why is Israel taking Lebanon? Is this all a part of the greater Hebrew state 'Eretz Israel'?

Politically it looks like this: Syria may be withdrawing at it's own leisure (but dictated from Washington) from the Cedar heights of Lebanon to the pot filled 'Bekaa Valley' and the Israeli 'Sheeba Farms': they just collaborate. They have no choice whatsoever, or they're dead.

AND THE REASON WHY, AS SEYMOUR HERSH DESCRIBED IT, IS CALLED THE SAMSON OPTION, AND IT'S LETHAL TO YOU TOO.

At a Downing Street reception not long ago, a guest had the temerity to ask Tony Blair: "How do you sleep at night, knowing that you've been responsible for the deaths of 100,000 Iraqis?"

THE PRIME MINISTER IS SAID TO HAVE RETORTED: "I THINK YOU'LL FIND IT'S CLOSER TO 50,000."

No British leader since Winston Churchill has dealt in war with such alacrity as the present one. Back then, it was in the cause of saving the nation from Nazism. Now, it is in the cause of putting into practice the foreign policy of the simpleton. During his nine years in power, Blair - and in this government it is he, and he alone - has managed to ensure that the UK has become both reviled and stripped of influence across vast stretches of the world. In so doing, he has increased the danger of terrorism to Britain itself.

Israel's assault on Lebanon is, in many respects, as disastrous as the war in Iraq. But at least then the pre-war hubris and deceit were played out in parliament and at the UN. This latest act of folly took place suddenly, with only the barest of attempts to justify it to global public opinion. And it stems from the core Middle East problem: the decades-old conflict between the Israelis and Palestinians.

I am told that the Israelis informed George W Bush in advance of their plans to "destroy" Hezbollah by bombing villages in southern Lebanon. The Americans duly informed the British. So Blair knew. This exposes as a fraud the debate of the past week about calling for a ceasefire. Indeed, one of the reasons why negotiations failed in Rome was British obduracy. This has been a case not of turning a blind eye and failing to halt the onslaught, but of providing active support.

Blair, like Bush, had no intention of urging the Israelis to slow down their bombardment, believing somehow that this struggle was winnable. Israel has a right to self-defence, but it could have responded to the seizure of its soldiers, and to the rocket attacks, by the diplomatic route. That would have ensured greater sympathy. Now, growing numbers in Israel itself realise that military action will bring no long-term solution.

EVEN IF THE GUNS FALL SILENT FOR A WHILE, THE DAMAGE HAS BEEN DONE.

This is the score sheet so far: roughly 800 deaths; shocking images of the slaughter of children in Qana; no clear Israeli military advance. And the transformation of Hezbollah from an organisation on the periphery of Lebanese politics into an object of admiration across the Arab world. But it is even worse than that. Is the assumption that civilians are legitimate targets if they do not flee certain areas any different from the principles that underlay the US war in Vietnam? Blair and Bush have given their blessing to the forced displacement of a large population, in violation of the guiding principles of the UN Commission on Human Rights.

Lebanon will now provide a rich source of inspiration to radical Islamists in their distorted quest for martyrdom. Senior Whitehall sources involved in the fight against terrorism are gravely concerned about the consequences of the Prime Minister's failure to condemn Israel's actions. The intelligence services say it is too early to tell whether Lebanon has already contributed to radicalisation in the UK; they work from the assumption that it will, like Iraq and Afghan istan. This is not in any way to justify or suggest equivalence, but it is surely the duty of a leader to produce a risk assessment of his actions. If Blair is prepared to put Britain in greater danger, he has to persuade its citizens that he is doing so for good reason.

Blair, at his rhetorical best in front of friends in California, appears in no mood for self-doubt. "I have many opponents on the subject," he told Rupert Murdoch's elite gathering at Pebble Beach on 30 July. "But I have complete inner confidence in the analysis of the struggle we face." Either he is delusional, or he has no choice but to say what he says. One close aide recalls that when the Prime Minister was preparing a foreign-policy speech in his Sedgefield constituency in 2004, a year after the invasion of Iraq, he considered a mea culpa of sorts, but changed his mind, asking his team: "Do we want headlines of 'Blair: I was wrong' or 'Blair: I was right'?"

WHATEVER HE MAY THINK ALONE AT NIGHT, THE PRIME MINISTER IS LOCKED IN A SPIRAL OF SELF-JUSTIFICATION FOR HIS ACTIONS IN IRAQ, HIS BROADER MIDDLE EAST POLICY AND HIS UNSTINTING SUPPORT OF BUSH.

His speech in Los Angeles on 1 August was spun as a rethink. If so, it is too little, too late. Historians reflecting on the Blair-Bush "war on terror" that followed the attacks of 11 September 2001 would be right to see it as a joint venture. Ultimately, his US policy is his foreign policy. It has, by his own admission, underpinned his every action.

But one part of the jigsaw that Blair claimed to be vital was never put in place. The "road map", drawn up in 2002 by the quartet of the US, EU, United Nations and Russia, has remained the best hope for peace between Israelis and Palestinians, yet it was never implemented, because Bush didn't really believe in it. If Blair felt so passionately about it, and if his public silence did win him the influence inside the White House that he claims to have, he could and should have stood up and been counted on that issue, if on no other. Instead, he meekly accepted American inaction.

THE HORRIFIC EVENTS OF THE PAST THREE WEEKS CAN BE TRACED IN LARGE PART TO THAT FAILURE. BLAIR'S EXHORTATIONS TO HIS AMERICAN AUDIENCE AT LEAST TO CONSIDER THE PALESTINIAN ISSUE WERE LAMENTABLE.

Before taking office in 1997, Blair travelled light on foreign policy. Saddam Hussein's chemical gassing of 5,000 Kurds at Halabja in 1988 passed him by: unlike dozens of other MPs, he didn't bother to sign a motion condemning it. Once in power, and frustrated at the pace of reform in domestic politics, Blair seized upon the theory of "humanitarian interventionism" that grew out of anger over inaction, first in Bosnia and then Rwanda. His decision to back military action in Kosovo reflected that thinking, and led to tension with Bill Clinton over America's reluctance to commit ground forces.

BANALITIES OF "GOOD AND EVIL"

Having spent a month in Rwanda in 1994, seeing attacks take place, I need no persuading that inaction can be as hideous as action. Sometimes it is right to fight, but - as Blair should know from his Chicago speech of 1999, in which he set out the principles of humanitarian intervention - the outcome is what matters. When I began work on my book Blair's Wars, I tried to give the Prime Minister the benefit of the doubt, until I realised, on speaking to many people who worked closely with him, how simplistic and impressionable he was.

Now, as Blair hides behind banalities about "good and evil" and the familiar, crude definitions of "terrorism", his ministers look on helplessly. They talk openly to journalists - in the "you can print it, but just don't name me" deal that is the coward's life at Westminster - of Blair's "Bush problem". Shortly before MPs left for their summer break, one senior member of the cabinet accosted me in the corridors of the Commons, and asked: "How much further up their arses do you think we can go?" - I suggested that this was more up to him than to me.

At least over Iraq someone resigned. This time, ministers do nothing. Their private complaints have no moral or political value, because they will not stop Blair. Under cabinet rules of collective responsibility, they are endorsing the Israeli assault.

Blair's survival in power is no longer a game of cat-and-mouse with Gordon Brown; it is no longer a question of Labour's ability to stave off the Conservatives.

A LANCET REPORT IN 2004 ESTIMATED 100,000 DEATHS, ALTHOUGH ONE OF THE AUTHORS SAYS THE TOTAL COULD BE 300,000.

Twenty-two days into this nightmare, and the world has reached the international version of Stalemate.

This happened in the wake of various consolidations that speak directly to the heart of civilizations around the world. The most telling parts of this new global chess board has arisen with the elimination of those once functioning governments that have now shed all responsibility to protect either their citizens and their own natural or created resources. At the turn of the Twenty-First Century most people still thought they lived in countries that had some authority over the lives of their own people. Most believed that their governments had some allegiance to their own people; but the New World Order has now succeeded in altering nearly all of that misconception. This can be easily seen in the current stalemate.

What used to be national governments have become nothing more that privately controlled ‘Bunches-of-Bandits’ that have sucked up the military forces of their former countries to act as raiding parties, in service to Greed & Power at any price.

This had its roots in frustrating international law and conventions, but that crime has now spread into the private consciences, of so many in the world, that it has become nearly impossible to take clearly humanitarian decisions. Amid this constant onslaught of evermore savage military conquests the victims can only writhe in agony, while the invading armies torture, subdue, or just murder them in order to achieve their self-fulfilling idea of ‘a victory over terror.’

DICTATORSHIPS THAT ARE BEGINNING TO CROP UP

Missing in these concepts is any of the ancient knowledge that was once intrinsically basic to what was needed, in any society that sought peaceful co-existence with their neighbors. A case in point is the Israeli government’s view that Israel can ‘protect its people’ best, by employing armed forces that simply kills anything that is not Israeli. Obviously this ignores the legendary Chinese General Sun Tsu who wrote: “To win one-hundred victories in one-hundred battles is not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the name of skill.” However this would require true military and civilian leadership, and not the simplistic dictatorships that are beginning to crop up now in far too many places.

Of this Robert Fisk said recently: “You heard Sharon, before he suffered his massive stroke, he used this phrase in the Knesset, you know, “The Palestinians must feel pain.” This was during one of the Intifadas. The idea that if you continue to beat and beat and beat the Arabs, they will submit, that eventually they'll go on their knees and give you what you want. And this is totally, utterly self-delusional, because it doesn't apply anymore. It used to apply 30 years ago, when I first arrived in the Middle East. If the Israelis crossed the Lebanese border, the Palestinians jumped in their cars and drove to Beirut and went to the cinema.

NOW WHEN THE ISRAELIS CROSS THE LEBANESE BORDER, THE HEZBOLLAH JUMP IN THEIR CARS IN BEIRUT, AND RACE TO THE SOUTH TO JOIN BATTLE WITH THEM.

But the key thing now is that Arabs are not afraid any more. Their leaders are afraid, the Mubaraks of this world, the president of Egypt, King Abdullah II of Jordan. They're afraid. They shake and tremble in their golden mosques, because they were supported by us. But the people are no longer afraid. Whether this is because they've grown tired of being afraid -- you know, they say once you lose your fear you cannot be re-injected with fear, you can't start being frightened again -- or whether it's because our Western forces are now at war with Islamists, not with nationalists, that, I’m not sure.” And Fisk goes on to say:

“…you know, when I grew up, the prime ministers of my country were Anthony Eden, Winston Churchill. Churchill is not my greatest hero, but these were all men who had been in the First World War and, of course, in the second. ~ These were people who had experienced war at firsthand, and they knew that it was war as an obscenity. It's about death, rather than victory or defeat.

But we have nobody now in government in the West, not in the Bush administration -- well, Bush managed to avoid Vietnam, Cheney avoided Vietnam. Colin Powell was in Vietnam, but he's no longer in the administration in Washington. But we have no one left in the Blair or Bush governments now who have any firsthand practical experience of the obscenity of war.* And they think when they make these statements that they're talking about their experience, which is of Hollywood or television movies.” (2)

PEOPLE WHOSE ONLY GUIDING PRINCIPLES ARE GREED AND POWER

This is what has happened throughout governments now – possibly with the exception of Israel –the utter lack of any morality or experience within ‘leadership.’ Too many governments are led by people whose only guiding principles are greed and power on a half-shell of death, that floats on the blood and gore of those that were once their ‘masters’ (supposedly a practice encouraged by ‘democracies’).

This is what has created the stalemate between the UN and the criminally disproportionate invasion of Lebanon, currently being prosecuted by the state of Israel, against the civilian population of that country. (3)

But, how to phrase what has happened in so many countries of the Middle East and elsewhere now – that is the real question. The government of Israel claims that they want to kill all the terrorists; those people who are resisting the New World Order and who are standing up to the aggression of the United States, wherever it and Israel have tried to crush the original populations. At the same time laws have been passed in Europe to protect Israel from anyone that uses ‘anti-Semitic’ language: and similar laws are now pending in the USA!*

DEFINITION OF SEMITES

From The Collin’s English Dictionary (1984) “Semitic: a member of the group of Caucasoid people who speak a Semitic language including the Jews and Arabs as well as the Ancient Babylonians (Iraqis), the Assyrians (Syria), and the Phoenicians (the Lebanese of today). Semitic: a branch or sub-family of languages that includes Arabic, Aramaic, Hebrew …” The Palestinians are pure Semites!

GIVEN THE DEFINITION OF WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A SEMITE – HOW CAN ISRAEL ADOPT THE POSITION THAT ANYONE WHO OPPOSES ISRAEL’S POLITICAL AMBITIONS IS ANTI-SEMITIC -- WHILE AT THE SAME TIME – THE NATION OF ISRAEL IS OUT TO EXTERMINATE THE ARABS AND THE PALESTINIANS, ALONG WITH THE LEBANESE, WHO ARE ALL SEMITES? EITHER NO ONE CAN BE CHARGED WITH BEING ANTI-SEMITIC, OR ALL WHO ADVOCATE THE DESTRUCTION OF SEMITES MUST BE SUBJECT TO ARREST AND PROSECUTION FOR THEIR RESPECTIVE ROLES IN THIS VERY MURKY “NEWLY MINTED INTERNATIONALIZED CRIME.”

This is part of what is being used to shield the Israeli state and its government, from criticism anywhere in the world today! Israel cannot have it both ways. Just as Israel cannot claim to seek peace and then murder anyone who disagrees with their terms of a settlement—neither can Israel or the USA dictate terms to the world, concerning who can live and who must die, based on their rather strange idea of who should be allowed to live in their “New Middle East”!

Hezbollah and Hamas both sprang from the need for protection from Israel, by the residents of those countries where the State of Israel decided that they, and they alone had security interests. No thought or consideration was given to the needs of those who actually were citizens of those places where their forces chose to maraud and plunder, while they captured tortured and murdered so many thousands of people, including a disproportionate number of women and children. IF the goal of Israel really is to eliminate these two organizations, then all they need to do is stop doing what they’re doing, to those who resist their unilateral military adventures. Hezbollah became twenty-percent of the Lebanese government, not by threats or force, but by providing schools and clinics, as well as food and water, along with some protection for the people of Lebanon.

MEANWHILE THE UNHOLY ALLIANCE BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENTS OF THE US & ISRAEL HAS COME TO BELIEVE THAT THEY AND THEY ALONE, ARE DESTINED TO DICTATE TERMS TO THE WORLD, BECAUSE OF THE HISTORY THAT THE UNITED STATES AND ISRAEL, TO A SOMEWHAT LESSER DEGREE, HAVE AMASSED.

INVASIONS AND MURDER COMMITTED DOWN THROUGH THE DECADES OF MUTUALLY BENEFICIAL EXISTENCE.

These two outlaw powers have used the military muscle they have built, to dominate and subjugate millions of people. In this process, the United States is funding not only America’s Military Budget, the US Black-Ops budget, all American cloak & dagger operations, and Homeland Security’s domestic spying on all US citizens: but in addition—we now see that what has been created is a separate military force, manned by Israeli’s, but created and funded almost entirely by the US taxpayers. - [HR: US/Israeli NATO is bleeding the European Union too, for taxes/funds.]

People in the United States - [ HR: and most other PNAC colonies] - do not receive any of the things that they are paying taxes for: health, jobs, education, security, freedom or democracy – instead our money is being used to wage a multiplicity of wars upon other nations, over territory that has been in Arab hands for over 5,000 years. (4) No pair of nations, regardless of weaponry, could ever literally ‘take-over-the-world.” And the cost of learning this deadly-clear lesson is usually annihilation or Diaspora!

With every hour that passes in Lebanon and Gaza, Israel continues to dig itself deeper into this quagmire that will ultimately engulf that self-absorbed state. If this insanity continues, then can Bush-America be far behind! The world must have laws to live by, just as people must have at least some small chance to live their own lives, to each according to their own chosen views of life, of religious beliefs and of their preferred governments.

To do this there must be not only be international laws to protect the innocent; but the concept of Justice that lives beneath those laws must be allowed to flourish wherever people try to live and breathe.

Soon enough these governmental traitors to their own peoples are going to understand, that it is the Governments that should fear their people, and not the other way round!
